What is Lite Dentistry?

Lite Dentistry combines Invisalign’s short-term orthodontic products and DSD’s facially-driven, digitally guided direct composite restorations to provide natural smiles for esthetically driven cases in a 3-4 month treatment plan. 

 

Who is Lite Dentistry intended for?

Lite Dentistry is a GP offering and is ideally suited for dentists that want to provide minimally invasive, affordable, and fast smile transformations to their patients.  

 

How will Lite Dentistry be promoted?

The initial campaign will be executed through DSD’s marketing channels. This will be a global campaign that will combine messaging through DSD’s social media assets, direct email marketing, and event based promotions.

 

When will Lite Dentistry be available?

Lite Dentistry will be available for dentists starting November 30th, 2019.

 

Is Lite Dentistry the same as Invisalign Lite?

No, Lite Dentistry and the Invisalign Lite product line are unrelated. However, Invisalign Lite can be used as an Invisalign product in the Lite Dentistry workflow.

 

Which DSD products can be used with Lite Dentistry?

The “Go-Lite” product has created two bundles to facilitate a Lite Dentistry case. The “Go-Lite” bundles can be simply just the Design or can be both the Design and Manufacturing of the silicone guides. These products are:

  • DSD Direct Design 🡪 design of the silicone guides
  • DSD Direct Manufacture 🡪 manufacturing of the silicone guides

Which DSD products can be used with Lite Dentistry?

DSD bundles three products together to facilitate a Lite Dentistry case:

  • Ideal & Motivational Planning 🡪 the initial smile design
  • Direct Design 🡪 design of the silicone guides
  • Direct Manufacture 🡪 manufacturing of the silicone guides

 

Does a dentist need to be Invisalign Certified to do Lite Dentistry?

Yes, Lite Dentistry is an ortho-restorative workflow that combines Invisalign treatment with direct bonded composite restorations that are delivered through a silicone template.

 

Does a dentist need an iTero to do Lite Dentistry?

Though an intraoral scanner is recommended, the dentist may submit PVS impressions to both DSD and Invisalign.

 

Does a dentist need to be DSD Certified to do Lite Dentistry?

Though highly recommended that a dentist attend DSD’s Residency 1, it is not required and a dentist may use DSD’s treatment planning services. For additional information, dentists should reach out to DSD directly.
